History:

Lighthouse Adventist Christian Fellowship (ACF) was rebirthed in May 2017 after 3 years of inactivity at the University of Ottawa. Originally the club was divided by the two languages but with the revamping of the club, integration and inclusion became the core of what we stood for as ACF. The Never Alone Adventist Christian Fellowship Institute (ACFI) in Tempe, Arizona, gave us the hope that even though starting a new club would be frightening, we weren't alone in the process.

 

Our two co-presidents for the 2017/2018 year- Akehil Johnson Arthurine Duhaney- were amongst a group of 15 ACF leaders that travelled to the Adventist Christian Fellowship Institute (ACFI) in Tempe, Arizona. When they came back they recruited Ellen Galupo, Johanne Mathieu, Matthew Mann, Alexandra Tesic & Simone Delisser to be apart of the first executive team of Lighthouse ACF.

 

Thanks to the additional help, time & resources of the Ontario Conference Youth Director and the ACF Ontario Ministry Co-Chair, there was successful and smooth launch of our club! Another thank you to our club sponsor Thando, who brings a vast amount of energy, experience, knowledge and dedication to this ministry. Lastly, we give God all the glory, honour and praise as it is God who helped each and every one of us in the process of establishing this club on the uOttawa campus.
